Sometimes we would like a second opinion before we take out Landcruisers apart. Tech forums are great places for asking such questions. I have compiled a list here, and you know of other Landcruiser related forums, please send a email to info@landcruiserv8.com

Please Help!! I have a 200 Diesel landcruiser v8 Diesel 2008 /06/15 in my workshop and the vehicle has got me into very hot water . The vehicle suffered rodent damage a year ago . The main engine harness was replaced . The vehicle had numerous fault codes and would go into fail safe when boost was just past the 2000 rpm mark . The customer is not a very happy camper . The vehicle has been in and out of the Dealership and the vehicle has still not been repaired . Northam Toyota is one of the 20 Monitor Dealers in South Africa . We have been tasked to solve this gremlin and put the customer at ease . We have failed misrably as the vehicle has broken down three times *( we tested the vehicle over 600km before returning the customer his vehicle each time prior to returning the customer his vehicle ). No sooner is the vehicle returned and the dreaded phone call follows . The turbo chargers and relevant wiring have been replaced twice . The original fault codes and scenario no longer are evident . A new code of P004b is displayed *( boost control actuator bank 2 ) .
The wiring tests out perfectly so also all the connectors . The EGR valve is clean . The fault causes a fail safe condition. Engine Warning light illuminated engine does not rev up and the speed of the vehicle will not go over 40 km/h . When the ignition is switched off the vehicle runs normally with out any problems . The fail safe condition seems to happen in traffic at low speed.
Any advice will be appreciated as I find my self in a very difficult spot at the moment .
Kind regards
